My fiance and I are going to be in DC for this coming weekend. We are going to the obligatory museums etc. But, I am looking for some recommendations.
Do any of you have suggestions for cool little restaurants/bars/hangouts for dinner/lunch/drinks/ppl watching as well as the usual sites that we have to see?
We will be carless, so access to the Metro is key even though we are not afraid of walking.
Thanks everyone! With RUSH commercials playing on every major network, have several James Hunt pics for your trouble.

Check out Cafe Mozart on H Street in NW. Nice place and good food.

Old Town Alexandria is neat, and is only a few stops outside of the city.
Clarendon is pretty busy with nightlife, it's also a few stops outside the city.
Adams Morgan is by the Zoo, and can be fun at night.
National Harbor and Georgetown are neat, but there is no Metro.

If you like German food and beer, check out the Biergarten Haus on H Street Northeast. No good Metro access, but the place is awesome.

Get some good Ethiopian food while you're here. My favorite joint is Zenebech near the Shaw metro station (green line.) Cheap and delicious.

I was there on Saturday. I had to park at the bank, but you probably heard me leave if you were still there at 8:50m

Trying to keep this vacation car event free. I know, I know. It sounds sacrilegious. But, this is a two day vacation for both of us. Car events, races, and chasing racing deals is every day work. I haven't even made it the Cars & Coffee here in Atlanta yet!

Old Town also has a trolley that will run you from the King St metro to downtown Alexandria. Plenty of Irish pubs down there.

"Old Town also has a trolley that will run you from the metro downtown. "
Just to be clear, Bakkster* meant downtown Alexandria, not downtown DC. The trolly runs up and down King Street, and it's free.
Don't want Converse expecting a trolly to take him all the way home from King Street. :)
